Each autumn, the Vienna monarch men’s play in the Czech lacrosse league NFLL. Our opponents are not only teams from the Czech Republic (Radotin Wolves, Jiji Mesto, Brno Ravens), but also from Wroclaw (Klub Sportowy Kosynierzy Wrocław), and Bratislava (Bratislava Tricksters).  All teams are the best of their home country. However, our target is to reach the finals of the NFLL at the first time in our history.

The Vienna Monarchs visited Hungary and played at the New Years Cup! New years Cup in Budapest is a well-known winter tournament held in an inflatable hall. Every year, teams from middle Europe come together and fight for a good „new years start.“ FOGO a Team from Japan showed up and caused pain to the Vienna Monarchs. With a bad tournament start, we tried to fight back against Olympia Ljubljana, which was our second game and the last game on Saturday. Ljubljana played well, they used our mistakes and we lost again.

We are happy to announce that the Vienna Monarchs men's team will participate at the National Box Lacrosse League (NBLL). The NBLL is the Czech indoor lacrosse league with nine teams from Prague, Plzeň, Pardubice, and Bratislava, and starts in February and ends in June. Each team plays against all other teams two times (home and away). By the lack of suitable sports hall in Vienna, we play our home games in Bratislava.

The first games are against Malesice and Old Dogs Plzen at the Areál Netradičných Športov Ružinov in Bratislava at 16. and 17. February.

At the end of December the Vienna Monarchs wearing ugly Christmas sweaters met in an Irish Pub in order to sum up the past year, recognize the MVP and the Rookie of the year, present plans for the next year and celebrate the upcoming holiday together. One of this years highlights was moving to a different sports field. For their outstanding achievements Afra Koschat (ladies) and Lukas Rudas (men) were awarded for Rookie of the year; Sara Kucinskas (ladies) and Rintaro Fujita (men) were awarded MVP. 

Definitely a fun night for all of us.

Nach dem gelungenen Start in das Projekt Jugendtraining für Lacrosse und Intercrosse im Winter 2018 hat sich der ÖLAX dazu entschlossen das Projekt im Frühjahr 2019 nicht nur weiterzuführen sondern auch auszubauen. 

Daher findet ab März 2019 wöchentlich ein Training für Kinder und Jugendliche unter 14 Jahren statt. Wie auch im Winter wird das Training immer Montags von 17.00 bis 18.30 stattfinden.

For the first time a Lacrosse clinic for girls and boys age 8 - 14 will be held in Vienna from Oktober to December! 

The kids will be introduced to the game of Lacrosse and Intercrosse and will be able to gain some first hand experience under professional guidance!
