In the matchup between the Vienna Monarchs and the Wroclaw Panthers, the game initially developed into a tense and balanced contest. However, as the game progressed, momentum shifted in favor of the visiting team from Poland. In the end, the Monarchs had to concede a bitter 10:17 defeat – a loss that cost them not only points, but also a position in the standings.

This coming Saturday, an exciting matchup awaits us in the NBLL as the Vienna Monarchs face off against the Wroclaw Panthers in Bratislava. Both teams are close in the standings, making this game particularly interesting: Wroclaw currently holds the 5th place, while the Monarchs are in 6th.

Last weekend, the Vienna Monarchs hosted the still-undefeated league leaders, SK Lacrosse Jižní Město, in a highly anticipated showdown. Despite a clear 8–29 defeat, the home team showed great fighting spirit and determination.

It was clear beforehand that the match against the Czech top team would be no easy task. Jižní Město delivered a strong and dominant performance as expected, controlled the game for long stretches, and demonstrated exactly why they sit at the top of the table.

This coming Saturday at 4 pm, an exciting matchup is on the agenda in the NBLL as the Vienna Monarchs take on the undefeated league leaders, Lakros Jizni Mesto. The game will take place in Bratislava, the "home ground" of the Monarchs, and promises top-level lacrosse.

Defeat to start the season

Last Saturday, the Vienna Monarchs faced Lakros Zbraslav in Radotin. Unfortunately, it did not lead to the hoped-for opening victory, but there were still many positives to take away from the match, especially the performance of our four rookies who made their league debut.

At the end of the season, our Monarchs once again faced the Wroclaw Panthers and the Custodes from Radotin in Bratislava. Both games ended in defeat and so the end of the season was mixed, as was the second half of the season.

Tagesordnung

The basic round of the NBLL season is slowly coming to an end and so the penultimate weekend for our Monarchs was in Radotin. With the Wolves from Radotin and the runners-up from Jizni Mesto, two tough opponents awaited our Monarchs.

After the tough weekend against the LCC Wolves and SKL Jizni Mesto, the NBLL team of our Vienna Monarchs didn't have much time to catch their breath, as they had to face the Bratislava Bats three days later. The Slovakians were an opponent on a par with us, so we went into the game ready to attack.

On this day, it was our team that made a dream start to the game. Klaus Hauer put our monarchs ahead after just 20 seconds. This was followed by an exciting first quarter in which our offense was able to score 4 more goals. The team went into the quarter break with a score of 5:2.

This weekend it’s that time again, the National Box Lacrosse League (NBLL), Europe’s elite league for
box lacrosse, starts its 2024 season. 9 teams from 5 nations are competing for the coveted NBLL
trophy this year. In addition to the Bratislava Bats, who are returning after a year off, a new team will
also be joining the league, the newly formed Panthers Wrocław.
