This weekend it’s that time again, the National Box Lacrosse League (NBLL), Europe’s elite league for
box lacrosse, starts its 2024 season. 9 teams from 5 nations are competing for the coveted NBLL
trophy this year. In addition to the Bratislava Bats, who are returning after a year off, a new team will
also be joining the league, the newly formed Panthers Wrocław.
A very special highlight this year will be the gameday in Schwaz, Tyrol. This NBLL super weekend will
feature 8 games of the finest box lacrosse against the picturesque backdrop of the Tyrolean Alps. A
very special gameday for our three Monarchs Max Kraus, Florian Schütz and Stefan Wirth who return
to home turf as they joined us from their parent club the Silver City Miners from Schwaz.
Our boys are also kicking off their 2024 NBLL campaign on opening weekend and will face the Berlin
Bears on Saturday March 9th 3:00 p.m. On Sunday March 10th at 10:30 a.m. a very special duel against
TJ Malešice awaits our boys. After a narrow last minute defeat at the end of the 2023 season and an
equally close game in January at the Winter Lax Cup, the first win against the boys in blue and yellow
is due this weekend.
