The VIENNA MONARCHS are very pleased to invite you and your team once again to our famous III. AUSTRIAN LACROSSE OPEN, this year an 8-a-side and a 8-Nations Lacrosse Tournament in the very heart of Austria, this year the first time DIRECTLY IN VIENNA on 6^th + 7^th of May 2006!

This highclass outdoor tournament will be held on the most wanted grass courts in Austria, the fields and yards of the Vienna Sportcenter-Donaucity SCDC!

It is the objective of this tournament to have a really good time, to have the finest tournament, celebrate a big player’s party with Liveband and video of the tournament, cigars-lounge, champagne, trophies, models from the best agencies of Vienna,…

This is why we are inviting you, to show that Lacrosse is an international sport and to give our audience a taste of just how good Lacrosse can be. We want YOU you to be a part of this terrific event and to have lot of fun with us!

Participation costs for this weekendtournament are 300 € for your complete team. Number of players: 8 - 20. So the more players you organize to join you, the less you pay each! Limit: 8 Teams (Men)!

The application of your team will be accepted from now on by transferring the complete fee to following bank-account:

The Tournament Rules:

Below you will find the rules of our 8-a-side-tournament in accordance with general rules of the ELF and the DLC:

a)      Shoes: Cleats and shoes for grass or artificial surface are allowed. NO SPIKES!

b)      Each team must have at least the minimum number of (male) players (including a goalie). This means 7 field players plus 1 goalie. Maximum 2 long sticks on the field at one time are allowed.

c)      All teams will arrive on time for the match fully equipped and with proper team jerseys.  These jerseys must have an individual number at least on the back of the jersey which is directly correspondent to the individual player.  Each player must have a legal stick applicable for his position, a fitting, legal helmet, fitting, legal gloves, an athletic cup; chest pad and throatguard (goalies) and proper footwear for the playing surface (no one may play without proper shoes - NO SPIKES).  Other padding is optional for the player, but may be overruled by the commissioner/referees if the equipment is inappropriate.  The commissioner/referees may check all the player's equipment and may refuse a player's participation if the equipment is found illegal, inappropriate or insufficient.  Teams arriving too late for the match will forfeit the match.  A forfeit will count as 3 points but be scored 0:0.

d)      All teams agree to accept the decisions of the referee while on the playing field and while in the match.

e)        Statistical ranking of the teams will be made possible as follows: a victory is 3 points, a tie is one point and a loss is 0 points.  The goals for and against each team will also be tallied to help separate teams who are equal in points.  The Tournament Organization is responsible for maintaining these statistics.

f)      Matches will be played in all weather conditions (except thunderstorms).

g)      Each team agrees to play in accordance to all rules and to play to the highest level of sportsman-like conduct.  It is the objective of this tournament and all participant teams to promote the sport of field lacrosse and to motivate all team players and competitors to the highest levels of fair play and sportsmanship. Each team agrees that no player will participate impaired in any manner.  Each player must be fit and ready to compete fully.

h)         The referees in writing will report results of all matches to the Tournament Organization at the end of the match.  This will be the game log signed by the referees and the team captains.  This report, once signed is final unless an objection is noted on the log sheet.

i)         All participants accept that all pictures taken and data filmed at this tournament stay in courtesy and property of the Vienna Monarchs Lacrosse Club.
